Vancouver Island is 100% free of COVID-19 cases, and to help keep it that way we run an ozonator in each of our 3 units between check outs and check ins for 2 hours, which eliminates any and all germs, bacteria, smells, etc. Both cabins and the one-bedroom suite are very private from each other, with no common areas for guests to mingle, so social distancing is very easy here! Anchors Inn has had the pleasure of welcoming guests in our first cozy waterfront cabin since 2003, and in Cabin 2 since 2005. We are in our 14th year of offering the one-bedroom suite, and have welcomed lots of repeat guests in that unit as well. All 3 units are pet-friendly. Do check out our one-bedroom waterfront suite , a great addition to our property as of 2007. Quite a bit larger than the two cabins, it appeals to those who might like to spread out a little, or stay a little longer – it boasts a separate bedroom, full bathroom and full kitchen, as well as a propane fireplace, and its own deck with a barbecue and a hot tub right around the corner! You’ll find photos of it under the tab “suite”. The rates are the same as for the two cabins. Being a pet-friendly property is very important to us! We charge $40 per pet per stay, and donate 100% of our pet fees paid by our guests to the Port Alberni SPCA. We were honoured to be named Donor of the Month in February 2013. Our photo gallery includes some images of the interior of both cabins, showing off our custom built upholstered nooks, a spot to relax with your feet up and read a book by the window. Some videos have been posted under Things to Do – You can also “like” our Facebook Page . Our rates increased slightly starting in 2018 — our first increase in 15 years! We are taking a one-night deposit on all bookings; larger deposits may be required for longer stays, particularly during the summer months. We will again have a 3-night minimum stay required for any bookings in July or August, unless a 2-night gap appears. Always good to ask! Be sure to check out our blog with photos and some new video links – Black bears fishing at Thornton Creek, a storm-watching sequence from last winter, and 5 Orcas (Killer Whales) who swam right past Anchors Inn on Valentine’s Day a couple of years ago. If you’re an avid gardener you’ll love exploring our neighbourhood where world acclaimed pioneer botanist George Fraser lived for 50 years, planting rhododendrons of amazing proportions. We’re proud to have a California Redwood in our front yard and a beautiful Maple near the beach, all planted by him decades ago.
